○abc原本不同意Steven Culp演出Rex一角，是製作人Marc Cherry堅持之下才由他演出，此外Bree與Rex這對夫妻的原型也是製作人Marc Cherry的父母親，他的父親死於心臟病，因此劇中人物的命運早已註定，倒是Tom Scavo所飾Lynnette的老公故事線就臨時修改過！

I know! Frankly, I'm convinced that was a casting error of mammoth proportions. Two interesting facts: (1) The network did not want Steven Culp cast as Rex, and Marc Cherry had to fight to bring him into the fold; and (2) Bree and Rex are modeled after Marc Cherry's parents, and his father died of heart disease. So, it all seems, sadly, premeditated...unlike the Tom Scavo storyline!

From evanichole: What do you mean when you say Tom Scavo's storyline wasn't preplanned?
In the original pitch for the show, I'm told the idea was for Tom to have two families--as in two wives and two sets of kids. I can finally spell that out for you now, because it's evident that is no longer the case. A few episodes back, that storyline derailed, and it became more about his ex-girlfriend working with him, etc. Personally, I would have loved to have seen that storyline for shock value alone, but I'm told some of the higher-ups felt it too unbelievable. There were clues, though, early on, in the bedroom scene where Lynette told Tom she'd leave him if he ever cheated and in lines like, "You're home less than half the time as it is."

From kisscathy: Tom Scavo having two families would be more unbelievable than Bree poisoning her husband on a regular basis or Mary Alice buying a baby from a drug addict whom she murders and covers up, before commiting suicide, and resulting in her husband killing another nosy neighbor...whew! Those higher-ups might want to reevaluate!Ha!
It also may have been that, um, some spoilers started, um, leaking out. Cherry has been known to change storylines once they leak. Which is funny because I also heard that Mike Delfino is not getting me as a new love interest next season.

It can absolutely be that.

○連演員都必須守口如瓶，不能洩漏任何未來劇情，秘密程度由拍攝多個結局版本以及最後播出場景並未出現在劇本可知。

From halie: Did you know that Steven Culp was getting written off?
No, and had I, I would've thrown a fit. That scene was not included in the scripts and was one of a bunch of endings they shot. When I talked to Steven Culp last week, I swear, he didn't know if he was going. I said "please tell me you're coming back. I have a bad feeling with your health problems." Steven said, "You know, most of that really does lie in the--and I'm being honest about that--in the imagination of Marc Cherry and what he has in store for us. And I've been saying that all year, and I know you've been thinking I've been lying to you, but it's really been the truth. They honestly, really, do not tell us anything."

○Nicollette Sheridan(Edie)跟她的新房子下一季都會繼續出現。

From katielee: Is Nicollette Sheridan a Desperate Housewives regular next season?
According to her, yes. "Edie will make it into the next season, yes, and so will her house," she tells me. "Her house will be built next season, and her six-year-old son that we heard about in the pilot is going to come visit."
