NBC影集消息:E-Ring續約整季,瑪莎節目被砍

'E-Ring' Gets Full Season, Martha's 'Apprentice' Done
NBC has given a full-season order to its Jerry Bruckheimer-produced drama "E-Ring." It will be one and done, however, for "E-Ring's" Wednesday-night companion, "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart."

NBC has said at various times this season that its plans all along were to air just one edition of Stewart's "Apprentice." In any case, the show's ratings don't offer much of an argument for a second season: It's averaging just 6.7 million viewers per week and drawing similarly meager numbers among adults 18-49, the demographic by which NBC measures success.

"The Apprentice: Martha Stewart's" two-hour finale is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 21. Following that, Stewart will focus exclusively on her daytime show (syndicated by another division of NBC Universal), which is doing okay but hasn't become a breakout hit.

As for "E-Ring," it becomes the first of three new Bruckheimer shows this fall to earn a full-season order. The WB dropped "Just Legal" after only three weeks, and the fate of CBS' "Close to Home" has yet to be decided, although a move to Friday night last week resulted in improved ratings.

"'E-Ring' is hitting its stride creatively and commercially," NBC Entertainment president Kevin Reilly says. "The Bruckheimer company is relentless in their focus on creative growth of their series. We think that bodes well for the show to continue its forward momentum as the season progresses."

The Pentagon-set series, which stars Benjamin Bratt and Dennis Hopper, hasn't been a huge hit for NBC, but it has seen its ratings improve since switching to 8 p.m. Wednesdays. Its total viewership has grown in five of the six weeks since the switch, and last week's episode hit a series high in viewers (9.9 million) and adults 18-49 (2.8 rating).
